Former Nigerian Player Collapses In Holland

A former Nigerian player, Pius Ikedia, was reported to have collapsed during a friendly match for ex-Ajax Amsterdam Stars on Saturday.

The former Nigerian player who is currently in a health facility in Amsterdam was said to have been rushed to the hospital after several attempts to revive him following the collapse.

36-year-old Pius Ikedia’s side were leading 7-2 in the exhibition game for the ex-Ajax stars known as ‘Lucky Ajax’ before the incident occurred.

A top source while confirming the incident said: “It was a close shave with death for Pius.

“We only thank God that with proper care, we were not celebrating the death of another Nigeria football star on the pitch.”

Pius before his collapse during the match organised to mark the 50th anniversary of the Haarlo Sports Club played with former stars including Kiki Musampa and John Bosman.
