Frank Lampard Tips Arsenal or Liverpool to Win Premier League Title
Former Chelsea manager and midfielder, Frank Lampard, has backed either Arsenal or Liverpool to lift the Premier League trophy this season, admitting that his former club are not yet ready to compete at the top level.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Lampard praised the progress of both Arsenal and Liverpool, describing them as the most complete teams in the league at the moment.
āYou look at how established the Arsenal squad is now and Liverpool, with the power they have of Virgil [van Dijk], Salah and other players,ā Lampard said. āEven though Liverpool are bringing in more players, theyāve still got that spine of players that have done it before.ā
As the Premier League heads into the October international break, Arsenal sit at the top of the table with 16 points, one ahead of defending champions Liverpool. Chelsea, meanwhile, are seventh with 11 points after their 2-1 win over Arne Slotās side.
Lampard admitted that Chelseaās current rebuild will take time, noting that the teamās recent transition period has made it difficult to compete with more settled squads.
āThe challenge is big for Chelsea,ā he said. āBut talent-wise, where theyāve got to from a couple of years ago ā and when I went back there ā you could see it was a really difficult time for the club.ā
The 46-year-old, who enjoyed a legendary playing career at Stamford Bridge, expressed optimism that Chelsea could return to the top in the future but emphasized that consistency and stability will be key to their progress.
