Fraudster impersonates Orji Kalu, promises victims N25m CBN grant

A fraudster impersonating Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Kalu has swindled a victim of N906,000.

The senator made the disclosure in a post via his verified Facebook page on Tuesday.

Kalu said that the fraudster identified simply as George promised the victim a N25 million grant from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

“Dear friends, please beware of scammers using a fake LinkedIn account in my name to fraudulently obtain money from unsuspecting victims.

“One Mr George (currently at large) has swindled the sum of N906,000 through the fake account created in my name.

“He has promised the victim a grant of N25,000,000 from the CBN and the victim is excepting the money to drop in his account today.

“I do not engage in business transactions, employment or any other financial transactions through my social media accounts.

“The general public is hereby notified,” Kalu wrote.

He also shared copies of the document the fraudster had the victim fill.
