Respite may soon come for embattled Nigerian pop star, David Adeleke aka Davido who is currently being detained in Dubai as sources say President Muhammad Buhari may soon intervene in his case, by conferring with the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

 

Davido was in Dubai most of the past week for the Dubai Africa Music Fest, which saw many Nigerian celebrities in attendance. The flamboyant crooner also known as O.B.O was seen in his Instagram stories buying truckloads of champagne, and taking his 30 B.G members on lavish shopping sprees.

However the proverbial kata kata burst, when Davido was approached by Michael ‘Dreamchaser’ Abel, a recording artist, and the younger brother of Abu Abel, the CEO of Obimzy Records in Dubai in an elevator at a building in the Dubai Financial District.

Dreamchaser reportedly approached the intoxicated celebrity and his entourage in an elevator. A few seconds later, blood was gushing from his body, and the assailant was identified as Davido by multiple sources.

Footage of the young Dreamchaser bleeding online has now gone viral, and although damage control was initiated by Davido’s management.

New reports indicate he is cooling his heel in detention in Dubai as the police investigate the matter.

Assault of this nature may be classified as a felony in Dubai, and the penalty for such is jail time and deportation.

Sources tell The Herald, that President Muhammad Buhari may be called on to intervene by David’s numerous influential godfathers, which include Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
