Senator Shehu Sani has condemned fresh attacks in which Chairman of APC in Batsari LGA, Abdulhamid Sani and a District Head in Dutsin-Ma LGA, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku Maidabino were killed.

The killings come few days after many others were murdered in cold blood by bandits across some local government areas in President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state.

Confirming the APC chairman’s killing on Sunday, Katsina Police spokesman, SP Gambo Isah said, “Today, 31/05/2020, at about 1:35 p.m., bandits in their numbers, attacked Sabon-garin Dumburawa in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

“The bandits began shooting sporadically with sophisticated weapons.

“They killed a 55-year-old APC Chairman in Batsari local Government Area, Abdulhamid Sani, when he resisted to be kidnapped by the hoodlums.”

Maidabino was reported killed around 1:00am today when bandits in their numbers stormed Yan’Tumaki community under Danmusa Local Government Area of the state.

“They broke into his house while he and his family members were sleeping and shot him.

“The gunmen also attacked other homes, took away belongings and set some buildings on fire. Many of the villagers were injured while trying to escape,” Sahara Reporters quoted an unnamed source as saying.

Reacting, the senator said that the fresh killings further prove that the present administration has failed in its constitutional responsibility of securing the lives and property of Nigerians.
