The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Anambra Command, on Friday, decorated 16 newly promoted officers in the state with new ranks.

The Sector Commander, Mr Adeoye Irelewuyi, made this known during the ceremony held at the command’s headquarters in Awka.

Irelewuyi charged the newly promoted officers to rededicate themselves to the  service of their fatherland.

He explained that 16 officers who were senior officers, middle cadre officers and marshals were decorated.

Irelewuyi called on them to work harder to ensure sanity on the state roads.

“We thank God for the recognition of your hard work and I urge you to brace up to the challenges of making our roads safe for users, ” he said.

He appreciated the FRSC management and board for approving the promotion, urging the officers to reciprocate the gesture through increased dedication and loyalty to their superiors.

“Do not be carried away with the new ranks, but see it as a demand for more responsibility and a clarion call to work harder. You must prove yourself and at the same time be examples to your subordinates.

“For those yet to be promoted, I urge you to be patient, it is a matter of time,” he said.

One of the officers, Miss Margret Onabe, who was promoted from Deputy Route Commander to Route Commander, promised to be more dedicated to her duties, saying that the promotion had not been easy.
