Fuel Scarcity Will End In Two Days – Kachikwu Assures VP, Govs

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu has assured the Vice President and state governors that the fuel scarcity in the country will end within two days.

According to Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, the Minister made this known while addressing the National Economic Council meeting made up of state governors and presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja today.

Obaseki added that the minister hinged his assurance on availability of fuel in the nation’s strategic reserves.

“We discussed the issue of fuel supply. As you know , there has been challenges of fuel supply in the country.

“The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources assured council that within the next 48hours , fuel supply will be restored nationwide because there is enough fuel in our strategic reserves.

“He said the ministry has released fuel from these reserves and it expects distribution will reach all parts of the country within the next 48 hours. ”

The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed had last week said that the Federal Executive Council meeting ordered Kachikwu to end the fuel scarcity by end of last week.
