Nigerian Fuji maestro, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1 or K1 De Ultimate, has suffered a double tragedy with the loss of his ex-wife, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, and his mother, Alhaja Halima Shadiya Anifowoshe, within a few days.
KWAM 1’s mother passed away at the age of 105. The musician shared the sad news on his social media pages, posting a photo of himself with his mother and the caption: ‘Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi Raji’un. RIP Mama’.
KWAM 1’s ex-wife, Alhaja Hafsat Ajoke Anifowoshe, died on Tuesday after an undisclosed illness and was laid to rest at Abari cemetery, Lagos, according to Muslim rites.
Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general elections, offered his condolences to KWAM 1, saying, “I commiserate with him and his entire family during this challenging period of mourning. May Almighty Allah grant them the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, forgive the sins of the departed, and grant them eternal rest.”
