The kidnapping and subsequent release of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Chief Olu Falae by some Fulani herdsmen has continued to generate ripples two months after the incidents.
The latest is coming from a Fulani socio-cultural group, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, who on Wednesday issued what it called a final warning to controversial former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, urging him to apologise to the Fulani race.
The group accused Fani-Kayode of insulting the Fulani race with comments made on Falae’s kidnapping.
According to its National President, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, the group is considering taking legal action against Fani-Kayode after due consultation with the leaders of the organisation in the South West in Abuja.
Bodejo said Fani-Kayode used hateful speech when he referred to Fulani herdsmen as “tse-tse fly, locust, leeches” and advocated that the herdsmen be banned from nomadic cattle-rearing activities in Yoruba land.
He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that peaceful co-existence of ethnic nationalities is not jeopardised in the country as a result of unguarded statements by some prominent Nigerians.
