The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Thursday busted a team of online fraudsters, the majority of whom are Nigerians.
Nick Hanna, US attorney, confirmed that a total of 80 suspects for cybercrime and money laundering, while 57 others are being hunted globally.
According to Hanna, FBI investigations showed that the suspects “many of who are from Nigeria” colluded with federal and state agents to dupe unsuspecting victims of their money.
He said the suspects were involved in schemes resulting in the fraudulent transfer of at least $6 million in fraudulently-obtained funds, with an additional $40 million in attempted theft

The charge sheet filed before the US district court in California by the FBI, as seen by TheCable, contained the names the following 77 Nigerians.
