Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and her husband Abdulrasheed Bello have been found guilty  of disobeying the mandatory lockdown imposed by the government.

A Magistrate court sitting in Ogba, Lagos state has sentenced the duo to 14 days community service each and they are expected to pay a fine of N100,000 each.

The ruling was given by Chief magistrate Yewande Aje-Afunwa and the couple is also to go into self-isolation for fourteen days in an undisclosed location.

Funke Akindele and her husband had over the weekend held a house party thereby flouting the directives given by the government.

Lagos State police said they have intensified “efforts to arrest the remaining persons in the video”.

After a video surfaced online of the party, Nigerians angrily reacted to the post, demanding that appropriate action be taken against the couple as well as everyone involved.

As if that wasn’t enough, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and cleaning products company Dettol distanced themselves from the actress, assuring Nigerians that she is not an ambassador of either organizations.

Naira Marley and Eniola Badmus were also present at the house party.
