Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is set to partner with the Lagos State government in order to improve primary healthcare delivery in the state.

The foundation’s Deputy Director, Carlos Cuellar made this known during a courtesy visit to the state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode at government house, Alausa yesterday.

Cueller explained that the foundation is seeking to partner with the state government, he said “We concluded, based on information that is available to us, that under performance of the primary health care system is not as a result of lack of efforts but rather an indication that there are root causes needed to be addressed.”

Cueller noted that performance management and systems constraints are challenges militating against the primary healthcare system in Lagos.

Ambode also expressed the state government’s readiness to provide quality primary health care service to lagosians.
