The two passengers, both German nationals, were in quarantine in their cabin on the Aida Aura, which has about 1,200 passengers.

The vessel had been due to leave the port of Haugesund on Monday.

The Haugesund physician, Teis Qvale, told NRK that the ship’s agent had contacted local authorities and wanted the two to be tested.

“Test samples have been sent to Bergen for analysis, and results were expected later on Tuesday,” Qvale said.

Qvale said that the two did not present symptoms when he visited the ship.

However, the two passengers were said to have been in contact with a third German national who had since been diagnosed with the virus.
