A man who murdered a native doctor in cold blood has claimed that God instructed him to commit the murder.
21 year old Uchenna Chukwuma who claims to be a pastor, killed the victim identified as 60 year old Oliver Chukwudi Ugwu in Umusiome Nkpor Anambra on Thursday with a machete.
He told the police when he was arrested that he was sent by God to kill the man for being a native doctor.
Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the incident and said police officers rushed to the scene of the incident when they were alerted by the public.

According to the police spokesperson, the suspect said the native doctor had been disturbing him spiritually and did not allow him to progress financially. He decided to kill him after God told him that was the way out of his financial and spiritual situation.
The police said officers attempted to rescue the victim, taking him to a hospital where he was certified dead on arrival. His corpse was thereafter deposited at the hospital mortuary pending an official autopsy.
The murder weapon was recovered from the scene while the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department at Awka.
