Goodluck Jonathan withdraws case against LAUTECH student who created his Parody account

A final year student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) who created a parody account for former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has regained freedom after spending 82 days in an Abuja police cell.

2019 Presidential Candidate and Convener of #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore made the announcement on his Twitter account.

According to Sowore, former President Jonathan has agreed to drop charges and stop the prosecution of Olushola Babatunde, social media influencer for opening a Twitter account parodying his name.

Sowore said,

#FreeShola has just been released from @PoliceNG detention in Abuja after more than 2 months for creating a parody account in the name of ex-President @GEJonathan, the former Pres. has also agreed to discontinue the bogus criminal trial. G-thanks to all! #RevolutionNow
