Gov. El-Rufai enrols 6 year-old son in Public Primary School

Nasir El-Rufai, the Governor of Kaduna state has enrolled his 6 year-old son, Abubakar Al-Saddique El-Rufai in a Kaduna Capital School, one of the Public Primary schools in Kaduna state. This is to fulfill a promise Governor El-Rufai made in 2017.

The Governor in the company of his wife, Aisha Ummi took their son Abubakar Al-Siddique El-Rufai to Kaduna Capital School on Monday morning.

The Governor made this known via his verified Twitter handle, @GovKaduna in a series of tweets,

“On 28 Dec 2017, Malam Nasir El-Rufai stated that “I will by personal example ensure that my son that will be six years of age in 2019 will be enrolled in a public school in Kaduna State, by God’s grace.”

Governor Rufai himself is a Product of Public school system. He attended the LEA Kawo which was one of the best schools during his young age.
The Governor who had an interview with Freedom Press Radio after dropping off his son in school, revealed he is determined to revamp public education in Kaduna state.

“As we make progress, we will require our senior officials to enrol their children in public schools.

“And I will by personal example ensure that my son that will be six years of age in 2019 will be enrolled in a public school in Kaduna State, by God’s grace,” El-Rufa’i had said

Furthermore, The Governor said “I made that commitment because I believe that it is only when all political leaders have their children in public schools that we will pay due attention to quality of public education.”
