Government has no real plan to bring Nigerians out of poverty – Don Jazzy

World-wide award winning music producer, Michael Collins Ajereh also known as Don Jazzy has said that the Nigerian government has no real plan to alleviate the sufferings of the masses and bring them out of poverty.

In a post to social networking site, Twitter, Ajereh said this was evidenced by the fact that the government is planning to increase taxes for all Nigerians.

His words: How does the govt plan to bring many Nigerians out of poverty when the struggling masses, neck-deep in poverty, are being overtaxed. The income & living standards of citizens of other countries that pay much taxes can’t be compared to that of Nigerians.

The Federal Government has received several knocks from political heavyweights, celebrities and the general masses over its plan to increase the tax burden on Nigerians by increase in VAT, and proposed Tax on data and air time purchased from telecommunications companies.
