Dr Fola Akinosun, the Proprietor, Foreign Links College of Education, has called on government at all levels to partner NGOs in alleviating the sufferings of indigent persons.

Akinosun made the call on Monday at the official launching of an NGO, Baby Blue Angels Foundation(BBA), in Ibadan.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that BBA was founded by Mrs Ramata Dabo.

NAN also reports that Akinosun was the Oyo South Senatorial Candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the 2019 general election.

He stressed the need for government to support NGOs to ensure they do not run out of resources to help the less privileged.

“My plea is that the government should genuinely help these NGOs to help the less privileged in our society.

“Different governments have made promises they don’t fulfil. I appeal to Gov. Seyi Makinde to help these organisations during his tenure,” he said.

Akinosun also called on the NGOs to do more in helping the less privileged, saying they needed them more at this period of economic hardship.

Oloye Lekan Alabi, Agba-Akin Olubadan of Ibadanland, said there was a need for the people to support each other.

Alabi, who was the Chairman of the occasion, stressed the need for people to be humble and give to the needy from all they had gotten.

Hon. Kunle Yusuf, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) said the Makinde administration was committed to poverty alleviation and job creation.

Yusuf, who was the Chief Launcher at the occasion, said the administration was ready to partner civil society organisations and support NGOs whose motives were to impact on society.

Dabo, the founder of BBA, said the motive of the organisation was to impact on lives and be there for whoever needed love and assistance.

“My passion and dream are to give and help people. It is what I have always wanted to do. My future plans for the foundation is to impact lives and help whoever needs love and assistance,” she said.

NAN reports that the BBA presented a projector to the deaf and dumb students of Methodist Grammar School, Bodija, Ibadan at the well-attended event.
