Ranger’s manager Graeme Murty has been relieved of his managerial role at the club.

The sacking of the 43-year-old occurred on Tuesday, just  three games before the end of the season.

The decision to sack Murty could be because of the 5-0 epic defeat and humiliation suffered by the club from arch-rivals, Celtic.

However, there could be some other factors that made the club’s management sack him suddenly.

Rumours are rife that Rangers management had talks with former Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard to replace the sacked Murty.

The ex-Liverpool and England national team captain seems to be the best alternative for now since he has been coaching the club’s development squad after retiring in 2016.

Murty took over the club’s managerial role after the sacking of former manager Pedro Caixinha.

Murty played for York City, Reading, Charlton Athletic and Southampton while he was a professional player.
