Guingamp striker Nathael Julan dies at 23 in car crash, club cancels game

Guingamp striker Nathael Julan has died in a car accident after he left training on Friday.

L’quipe reports that the accident happened in Pordic, Brittany, around 15:00 GMT.

Julan, 23, began his prefessional career at Le Havre in Ligue 1 and made 11 senior appearances for Guingamp.

“Guingamp is in mourning,” a club statement read. “On this tragic day, all the members of the club join together to send their sad condolences to Nathael’s family.”

Guingamp plays in the second tier of the French League and are currently on winter break. The club has cancelled a friendly match against Concarneau scheduled for Saturday.
