Unknown gunmen disguised as army personnel have abducted the Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Kogi State, Wakili Damina.

The state secretary of MACBAN, Adamu Abubakar told reporters on Tuesday in Lokoja that Damina was abducted from his home in Chikara village, Kogi Local Government on April 30.

He said that the gunmen numbering eight and clad in army camouflage stormed the house in a white bus.

Abubakar said that the victim’s younger brother called him about an hour after the incident to inform him of the abduction.

He said he placed two calls to the chairman’s number and that while the first call rang out, the second indicated that the phone number had been switched off.

Abubakar said he immediately contacted the state’s Commissioner of Police and the Special Adviser on Security Matters to the Governor, Jerry Omodara.

He said all efforts to locate the missing chairman, including visits to the police headquarters in Abuja and  abbattoirs in Kogi, proved futile.

Confirming the incident, Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba said that Damina has yet to be found.

He said that the Divisional Police Officer in the area did not officially inform him about the incident.

However, he said that the abduction was being investigated.
