Hours after 42 people, including 27 students, were abducted from a school in Kagara, Rafi LGA of Niger State, suspected bandits have again attacked Gurmana ward of Shiroro LGA.
It was gathered that the assailants launched attacks on Sarkin Zama, Bakin Kogi (Lagbe), Siyiko and neighbouring villages, which were said to have lasted hours on Wednesday evening.
An unconfirmed number of villagers was said to have been shot dead during the attacks.
Speaking on the latest attacks, Chairman of Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Kokki, said that besides the deceased, others injured have been moved to different health facilities for medical attention.
According to him, the suspected bandits also abducted an unconfirmed number of people and whisked them to an undisclosed location.
He lamented that the defenceless villagers are being forced to live at the mercy of “hydra-headed monsters” who launch attacks on a daily basis.
