The second-class monarch, who is said to be 85 years old, was kidnapped barely 48 hours after he reportedly convened a security meeting over a plot to kidnap him.

A cabinet member that preferred anonymity said, “Just a day before the incident, the Emir summoned a security meeting about a potential ploy to kidnap him but, unfortunately, the security agents didn’t act on it.”

Neither the police nor the state government has released a statement to confirm the abductions as of the time of filing this report.
