Festus Keyamo, SAN, caused an uproar when he accepted the role of President Buhari’s spokesman for his re-election campaign.
Many were disappointed that such a prominent lawyer who has so far been seen by many as one of the people would ‘go over to the dark side’ and take on a role for a President that has generally proved to be unpopular with the populace.
A businessman, Bobby Uzochukwu, on Friday, April 20, at an Anambra state federal high court said that Keyamo had betrayed the people with his latest move.
Uzochukwu said; “I know Keyamo. He’s my friend. I was surprised when I heard that he accepted to serve Buhari. This is a betrayal of the highest order. We thought Keyamo would replace the late Gani Fawehinmi; but see what he has done, consenting to serve somebody who has no interest of the people at heart. I would have done more things to him this afternoon, but as you can see, he ran away.”
The Businessman had earlier called Keyamo a host of really nasty names while the latter fielded questions from journalists after a case he was conducting in the court.
The lawyer on seeing that something was brewing quietly got into his car and drove away.
