Heavy gunfire rocks Osun on eve of guber polls as army arrests Asiri Eniba

Report reaching The Herald says there has been a shoot-out between troops of the Nigerian Army and thugs allegedly working for Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Oroki Branch, Osogbo, Kazeem Oyewale aka Asiri Eniba.

It was learnt that the heavy exchange of gunfire occurred around Old Garage in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.

Asiri Eniba was said to have been arrested and whisked away by soldiers after the shoot-out.

The shoot-out occurred less than 24 hours before the governorship election in the state.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is seeking re-election, hoping to beat the opposition led by Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Hon. Yusuf Lasun of Labour Party (LP).
