In what appeared a retaliatory move, suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed a pregnant woman in Orin Ekiti in the early hours of Thursday.

This is following Monday’s killing of a herdsman, Babuga Dengi, in Oke Ako in Ikole LGA of the state by suspected Benue state indigenes.

According to The Punch, the eight-month pregnant woman is a Tiv from Benue.

In the attack, the suspected Fulani herdsmen also wounded some people.

In the wake of Monday’s killing of the herdsman, Governor Ayodele Fayose had summoned a meeting of herdsmen and farmers and warned them against turning the state into a “war zone”.

He had also charged all security agencies in the state to fish out and prosecute the killers of the herdsman.
