Nigerians on social media are having a field day passing hilarious comments on a statement allegedly made by Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.
According to reports circulating on social media, the minister said Nigeria would attack Israel within 24 hours if the Middle Eastern nation failed to deport leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Kanu jumped bail in September 2017, a month before he was due to appear before Justice Binta Murtala Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja for continuation of his treason-related trial.
He surfaced in Israel on Friday.
However, The Herald concluded the quote attributed to the minister as false after several checks to confirm its authenticity failed.
Nevertheless, Nigerians are reacting on social media.
