Hisbah Guards Confiscate 111 Cartons Of Beer In Jigawa

The Jigawa Command of Hisbah Guards has confiscated 111 cartons of assorted beer in Birninkudu Local Government Area of the state.

The Hisbah commandant, Malam Aliyu Sa’idu, said this when he briefed newsmen on the activities of the guards in Dutse on Thursday.

Sai’du said that operatives of the command intercepted a Peugeot Boxer carrying the beer in Babaldu town on March 10, adding that the beer was smuggled from neighbouring Bauchi state.

The commandant also said the guards also seized 274 empty cartons of beer at Gidan-Dogo on Hakimi Street, in Dutse Local Government Area on Feb. 27.

It would be recalled that Gov. Muhammad Badaru approved the appointment of Sa’idu as the commandant of the guards on March 1. (NAN)
