The Lagos State Police Command has disclosed the result of an autopsy conducted on the remains of Zainab Ali-Nielsen, popularly known as Alizee, who was allegedly murdered by her 53-year-old Danish husband, Peter Nielsen, in their Banana Island home on April 5.

Also found dead in the home was their four-year-old daughter, Petra.

In a press conference on Monday, the State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, quoting the autopsy report, said Alizee died as a result of trauma to the head while Petra was poisoned.

Nielsen, who has been charged on two counts of culpable homicide before a Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court, had said that mother and child died from inhaling toxic gas.

Imohimi said, “The autospy report revealed that Mrs. Zainab Nielsen suffered trauma as a result of the impact on her head.

“Secondly, the forensic experts revealed that there were bloodstains from the couple ’s bedroom to the kitchen.

“Even though they were cleverly wiped from the floor , they were still able to detect the stains with the application of special chemical reagents.

“In addition, bloodstains were also discovered on the wash hand basins and on the hand towel the suspect used in wiping his hands after the commission of the offence.

“Although it was cleverly cleaned up as well , the experts were able to discover that too.”

Nielsen was on Thursday remanded in Ikoyi Prisons by the court.
