How APC Turned Akpabio Into A Woman – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) turned the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, into a woman.

In a move that sent ripples across the national polity, Akpabio, a two-term governor and senator elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defected from the party to the ruling APC on August 8.

However, the controversial Fani-Kayode said that Akpabio allowed himself to be turned into “a woman” to avoid persecution by the APC.

He made this known Tuesday on Twitter while commending immediate-past Governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, for refusing to bow to pressure to join the APC.

Fayose is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on an 11-court charge bordering on fraud and abuse of office, in a move believed to be politically motivated.

He was released on bail on Monday on the orders of Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

The ex-minister said, “I commend my brother Ayodele Fayose for his courage and boldness in the face of persecution by the agents of tyranny.

“Now that he is out of detention, can we ask what manner of man is Akpabio, who caved in, turned to a woman and joined the fold of the persecutors of his people?”
