How generator fume wiped out family of 4 in Kwara (Photo)

Four members of a family died Wednesday after allegedly inhaling fumes from a generator in their apartment in Ojomu family house in Sanmora, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The victims – a man, two wives and one child – were said to have left their petrol generator on inside the house when the incident occurred.

A source said that neighbours had to break down the door before discovering the lifeless bodies of the victims.

Two other members of the family who were found unconscious were rushed to a nearby hospital.

“The family of four slept leaving their generator on inside the house.

“We discovered their lifeless bodies early this morning, the head of the house, his two wives and one of his children were all dead.

“Two of the family members who were unconscious as at the time of our breaking in have been rushed to the hospital.

“Although they are both in critical conditions, it is our prayer they survive,” a neighbour, who preferred anonymity, said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident.

He stated that two members of the family that were found unconscious but still breathing were rushed to a health facility but did not name the facility.
