The police in Lagos on Friday foiled an attempted bank robbery by a suspected team of robbers in Ejigbo area of the state.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, disclosed this on Sunday, noting that the command also arrested the gang’s leader.

According to him, the Ejigbo Police Station received a distress call on Friday morning that some armed robbers on motorcycles were operating outside the Access Bank along Egbe Road by NNPC Junction at Ejigbo.

Elkana said that the Special Anti-Robbery Squad had taken over the investigation, stressing that efforts were on to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
