Minister of Transportation and former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, allegedly helped a kidnap victim regain freedom
According to The Cable, Amaechi assisted the man on Sunday and he had been kidnapped in Rivers state.
His media office released a statement chronicling how it all went down. The statement averred that the former Governor was on his way to Ubimini, a community in Emohua local government area, while one the trip, he caught sight of an abandoned Lexus SUV by the road.
The statement also averred that Amaechi was to address some supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ubimini area, and on seeing the abandoned SUV, he ordered his security team to investigate the surrounding forest to find anyone who might have occupied the vehicle.

During the search, one Chinda Edi was allegedly found.
The alleged victim then narrated what happened.
According to his story, he and the other occupants of the car were attacked by assailants brandishing AK 47s and other dangerous weapons.
“We were eight in the car and they succeeded in kidnapping seven others,” Edi said
“While they were beating and forcing us into the bush I managed to escape to the other side of the forest.”
Amaechi, according to the statement, then ordered his men to search the forests in the hopes of finding the perpetrators and making them pay for their crimes.
