A report by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has indicted National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, of collecting the sum of N250 million from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) under Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

According to the report, Secondus obtained the funds in two tranches in the build-up to the 2015 general election.

He allegedly obtained N200 million from the ONSA with voucher number 0244 through his Personal Assistant named Chukwurah.

Secondus, who was Deputy Chairman (South) of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the time, also allegedly personally signed for N50 million in November 2014.

The report, as reported by The Punch, stated, “Uche Secondus received N200 m in cash from the ONSA with voucher 0244. His Special Adviser , one Chukwurah, signed for the money on his behalf on February 2 , 2015.

“Earlier, he had collected N 50 m which was personally received by him on November 7, 2014.

“The funds were approved by Col . Sambo Dasuki ( retd . ) for unknown reasons but were merely referred to as ‘special duties .’”

The report also detailed how Secondus obtained vehicles worth N310 million from the ONSA.

“Secondus received vehicles worth N 310 m . On June 28 , 2013, he received a Benz G63 worth N36 m ; on April 8 , 2014 , he received two Toyota Hilux vehicles worth N 14 m . However, the opposition party chairman has debunked the claims, describing it as blackmail and a continuation of media trial against him by the Federal Government.

He vehemently denied receiving any money from Dasuki or the ONSA.

Secondus urged the Federal Government to meet him in court should it be ready to substantiate the claims against him.
