Sen. Shehu Sani (APC – Kaduna Central) has described the humanitarian crisis in the North East as a cash cow for those who profit from the sufferings of others.

He said the Internally-Displaced Persons (IDPs) displaced by the Boko Haram crisis continue to experience extreme lack despite the billions of naira pumped into caring for them yearly by local and federal governments and aid agencies.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Saturday morning, Sani said, “The humanitarian crisis in the north east of Nigeria is simply a full scale business. Billions pumped in by local and foreign governments and aid agencies and yet woes of the IDPs continues. The IDPs are ATMs for entrepreneurs & merchants of crisis. Profiteering from plight.”
