Husband Attacks Wife With Cutlass, Club and Bottle

An ex-police officer turned okada rider, Tajudeen Adeniyi, is currently on the run from the police after attacking his wife with a cutlass, a club and a bottle. The incident occurred in the Plaza area of Akure, Ondo state.

Doctors report that the woman was inflicted with a 12 centimeters cut on her and other assorted injuries during the attack.

Narrating her ordeal to newsmen, the 36 year old Moyosola who has been separated from her husband since November 2012 when he went to leave with another woman said he invaded her apartment just when she was about to sleep.

Her words:  “I was about to sleep last Wednesday when he forced the door of my room opened, immediately he forced the door of the room opened with the use of the mortal, he attacked me with cutlass, bottle and club.

“I wanted to run for my dear life, but he came with two other men and one of them blocked the entrance which made him to have opportunity to attack me. After I managed to get out of the room, he still pursued me till I ran for some meters before some okada operators assisted me.

“I don’t know why he had to do that, he wanted to kill me and use me for money rituals, because if I had not dodged the cutlass he wanted to use it to cut my neck. If he had succeeded in doing that I would have been dead by now.

“He has abandoned me and the children for another woman since last year, before then it was always quarreling, it was always beating everyday and when he packed out I took our children to my parents in our home town, Ogotun-Ekiti. He went there and took them to where he is living with his concubine, leaving behind only the last born”.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Wole Ogodo, said the men of the command were on the trail of the man, describing the action as barbaric.

The doctors have ascertained that this was a case of attempted murder.
