I dare you to publish your assets declaration form – Shehu Sani tells El-Rufai

Former Senator for Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has challenged immediate-past Governor Nasir el-Rufai to publish his assets declaration forms submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau in 2015 and 2023.

Sani threw the challenge in a tweet on Wednesday, a day after el-Rufai wrote about how his life has become easier after office.

El-Rufai was Kaduna governor between May 29, 2015, and May 29, 2023, during which he publicly declared on numerous occasions that he never stole the state’s funds and dared his predecessors to make such claim.

Speaking on El-Rufai’s tweet about life after office, Sani described his political foe as “retired Governor now back to ‘blogging on Twitter’ while waiting for political appointment from Tinubu, after working for Amaechi and surreptitiously dropping negative stories”.

Sani stated that el-Rufai left a huge debt profile for “our children and grand children in Kaduna State to pay AND YOU claimed that you NEVER STOLE from the coffers of Kaduna State”.

He added, “One of your stooge even claimed that you are poorer now. I dare you to make public your assets by publishing the content of the form you submitted at the Code of Conduct Bureau, both the one of 2015 and that of 2023.

“I will get back to you after you have done this.”

El-Rufai has not responded to the challenge as of press time.
