A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa State, Timi Alaibe on Saturday debunked rumours making the rounds that he had defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.
Alaibe, who contested for the gubernatorial ticket of the APC in Bayelsa before pulling out of the race, said that the rumour was the handiwork of mischief makers who were out to malign him and dent his image.
Speaking through his media aide, Mr. Bonnke Bilabou, in his hometown in Kolokuma/Okpokoma LGA, Alaibe said those bent on denting his image even went to the extent of cloning his phone number, through which they sent a bulk sms to his supporters that he had defected to the PDP.
He described the act as a “desperate attempt by certain people to defame” him.
He then went ahead to advise his supporters to vote wisely.
