In reaction to the decision of the FCT High Court Abuja, which sentenced Maryam Sanda to death by hanging for killing her husband in November 2019, Toyin Abraham expressed her grief for Maryam and advised married women to leave their marriages if it’s not working, rather than die in silence or end up in bad situations.

Abraham disclosed this on her Instagram handle on Monday, January 27, 2020, shortly after the Judge pronounced his verdict on Maryam Sanda.

She wrote;

“They were happy. Pls leave if it’s not working. They will mock you but please just leave.

“God I’m heartbroken. I’m so down”

“Don’t care about what people will say cos people will always talk. GOD please for the baby”

Justice Yusuf Halilu of an FCT High Court on Monday sentenced Maryam Sanda to death by hanging for killing her husband.

The court convicted Sanda for the killing of Bilyaminu Bello, the son of former PDP National Chairman, Haliru Bello, in Abuja on November 19, 2017.

The judge held that the prosecution proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt that the convict stabbed her husband and tried to conceal her action by claiming he fell on a broken bottle.
