The decision of Anambra South senator-elect, Ifeanyi Ubah to defect from the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has set tongues wagging on social media.

Ubah had defeated the incumbent, Andy Uba (APC) and his brother Chris Uba (PDP) to emerge as senator on the YPP platform, but APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole disclosed on Tuesday that the billionaire has defected to the ruling APC, a month after his victory.

The senator-elect’s media office could not be immediately reached for confirmation.

However, some Nigerians took to social media to react to the news, accusing the senator-elect of betraying the party that worked for his victory.
