Igboho’s house: IGP vows to fish out arsonists

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu has vowed to apprehend those behind the burning of the Soka, Ibadan home of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho.

IGP Adamu stated this Wednesday in an event in the Ikeja area of Lagos on Wednesday.

Vowing that the perpetrators would not go unpunished, the police boss said that some personnel of the force have been detailed to fish them out.

He called on members of the public with useful information about the incident to approach the police with it.

“Anybody that goes to burn anybody’s property is nothing but a criminal, and we have already asked our men to fish out whoever did that and the person would be punished. That is criminal, we have laws in this country and we must respect the law and if anybody goes foul of the law, the person must be punished.

“Every citizen has the responsibility to the country; those people that have information as to who did that should come out to give the police so that we can do our job,” IGP Adamu stated.

A section of Igboho’s home went up in flames on Tuesday morning.

The Oyo State Police Command blamed yet-to-be-identified hoodlums for the fire incident.
