Ighalo, Onazi, others storm Eagles’ camp

Watford’s Odion Ighalo and Trabzonspor’s Ogenyi Onazi reported at the Super Eagles camp in Abuja Monday night.

Patrick Pascal, the Team’s Coordinator, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone on Monday night, said that 11 players had so far arrived camp.

“Ighalo and Onazi joined other stars like Kenneth Omeruo, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi, Musa Muhammed and Kingsley Madu.

The trio of Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa arrived in the Super Eagles’ camp on Sunday night.

Iheanacho has scored three goals in the premier league so far with three assists for Manchester City. Although he was on the bench against Middlesbrough at the weekend, he is tipped for a big future under Spanish manager Pep Guardiola.

Trabzonspor midfielder Onazi, who arrived the country earlier , was seen at the venue of the Federation Cup match between Ifeanyi Ubah and Nasarawa United in Lagos.

The former Lazio midfielder was in the company of Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohor, who was also at the stadium to witness the encounter before leaving for camp on Monday.

Pascal noted that 14 more players were expected to arrive in camp latest at the end of Tuesday. He said training would start on Tuesday morning.

“The remaining players like Mikel Obi, Victor Moses are expected in camp by the end of day tomorrow.

“We will begin training in earnest ahead of the clash against Algeria,” he said.

NAN reports that 25 players were invited ahead of the crucial Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Fennecs of Algeria.

The Algerians are expected to arrive in Uyo, Akwa Ibom on Thursday.

The explosive encounter is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Nov. 12. (NAN)
