Ighalo Scores Again, Sets Watford EPL Record

Watford striker, Odion Ighalo netted his 10th goal in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday to secure a 1-0 win over struggling Sunderland.

With the goal, the Nigeria has set the record of being Watford’s highest goalscorer ever in the English Premier League and is the fourth African player to score 10 goals in 16 league games, after Didier Drogba, Demba Ba and Riyad Mahrez.

The 4th minute strike also secured Watford’s first league win over Sunderland in 16 years and takes them to 7th place on the league table, while also taking Ighalo’s tally to 26 in this calendar year.

This latest loss has compounded Sunderland’s woes in the present campaign, relegating the club to second from bottom, with 12 points in 16 games.
