IGP withdraws Police Officers attached to EFCC

Mohammed Adamu, Inspector General of Police (IGP) has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all police officers attached to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

This is coming on the heels of the arrest and subsequent suspension of Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency.

This was contained in a signal addressed to the Assistant Inspector General (AIG), police mobile force (PMF), PMF squadrons one to 79, force secretary.

A Police source who confirmed the development to The Cable also disclosed that officers guarding Magu’s official and personal residence have  been withdrawn.

The withdrawn officers from Police Mobile Force (PMF)  21, 44, 45, 46 and 50  have been ordered to report at the Station Headquarters in Abuja on Monday unfailingly.

In the meantime, access to EFCC office has been restricted to operatives of the anti-graft agency only as Presidential Panel continues to grill Ibrahim Magu over allegations of fraud levelled against him.
