Five inmates of Ikoyi prison have been confirmed electrocuted to death in an incident on Monday. According to reports, the electrical surge has also gotten many others grievously injured.
Although details of the incident have not been confirmed, it has been reported that it took place on Monday.

Recall that the Herald reported that the Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) says it has arrested two suspects, who allegedly attempted to smuggle illegal substances into the Ikoyi Prison premises.
The Controller of Prisons Command, Mr Ailewon Noel, on Wednesday, gave names of the suspects as Mr Ashiru Isa and Mr Adamu Muhammed.
