Ile Arugbo: Dump APC – Fani-Kayode Urges Gbemi Saraki

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has advised Minister of State for Transportation, Gbemisola Saraki, to dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the demolition of her father’s property.

Popularly known as ‘Ile Arugbo’, the edifice that used to serve as the Saraki dynasty’s political base was pulled down early Thursday morning in Ilorin.

Ms. Saraki in a Friday statement she personally signed, blamed Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazzaq, for ordering the demolition to settle perceived generational family political scores.

She also accused the governor, whom she said joined the APC few months to the 2019 general election, of “disrespecting” her and destroying the party’s chances in subsequent elections in the state by the act.

However, in a Saturday message apparently directed at her, Fani-Kayode appeared to suggest that Ms. Saraki’s response to the destruction of her father’s legacy was inadequate.

The controversial politician urged Saraki, who he did not name, to dump the APC.

He tweeted, “There is nothing in this world that will make me remain in a political party that maliciously demolished my fathers house for no just cause.

“Dr. Olusola Saraki was a profoundly good man who helped and transformed the lives of many. He was a great man: he did not deserve this.”
