I’ll Contest In 2019 Despite Quitting APC – Shehu Sani

The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani, has boasted that he would contest the 2019 senatorial election despite missing out on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sani’s resignation from APC was a hot topic of discussion on Saturday, days after his name was substituted for Uba Sani, the political adviser of Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna.

Confirming his resignation via a post on his Facebook page on Sunday morning, Sani expressed his appreciation to his followers for their “show of solidarity”.

He also vowed to reveal his new political party, under which he will seek re-election into the senate, within two days.

The senator said, “This is to thank all my supporters and friends for the show of solidarity and assurances of support over my decision to exit the APC.

“I assure you that in the next two days you will be informed of my new party.

“And be rest assured I will contest in the upcoming elections Insha Allah.”

Meanwhile, a former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode congratulated Sani for quitting the APC.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain said that Sani had finally “seen the light”.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Saturday evening, the controversial Fani-Kayode said, “My good friend Sen. Shehu Sani has left the APC. He has fled the darkness and seen the light. He has rejected the horrendous plague that Buhari represents and run from the evil affliction. The Bible says “God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform”. Thanks be to Him!”
