I’m banking on Ghana to win AFCON 2017 – JayJay Okocha

National football star, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha is backing the Black Stars to win the 2017 Africa cup Of Nations in Gabon in the stead of Super Eagles which failed to qualify for the finals.

Okocha was part of German Bundesliga officials who visited the Ghana Football Association for co-operative talks, according to Ghanaweb.

The Black Stars missed out narrowly on winning the last tournament in Equatorial Guinea and Okocha believes the Black Stars have the pedigree to win that elusive fifth Africa Cup of Nations title.

“I will be supporting and keeping an eye on Ghana at the AFCON, of course, I will be supporting Nigeria if they had qualified,” he told the media in a press conference.

“I think the Black Stars for so many years now have been unable to win the trophy and it will be exciting for Ghana if the team is able to win it in Gabon.

“They are lots of quality players in the team which can match any National team on the continent, so I hope Ghana wins the competition in Gabon.”
