I’m Not Bothered About Salary- New Eagles Coach

2 Min Read

New coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has revealed that his main focus at the moment is qualifying the Super Eagles for Russia 2018 and not thinking about whether he’ll be paid his salary or not.

Rohr is not new to Nigeria, having worked with the country before and even then he was owed for six to eight months, but he says he has no such worries now.

Speaking to journalists, he was asked if he was worried about his wages especially in the light of Samson Siasia’s recent woes. To this, Rohr responded that his main aim was to get Nigeria into the 2018 world cup.

“My problem at the moment is not when my salary is coming; my problem is building a national team.

“We have a contract, and I see everyone who signed the contract as being honest.

He also touched on plans to get Vincent Enyeama back into the national team, stating that he was the sort of player he needs in the team, “I asked about Enyeama when I signed because I know his qualities.”

“I also spoke with the goalkeepers’ coach Alloy Agu and he spoke highly of him. I’ve called and spoken with Enyeama since my resumption but nothing is settled yet. I will see him after the Tanzania game because I saw him play in France and he’s the kind of player we need to help us move forward.”
