I’m Recovering Well And Will Be Back Soon – Mikel

Super Eagles and Tianjin TEDA of China captain, John Mikel Obi has affirmed his recovering from the surgery he underwent last month.

The former Chelsea midfielder was operated upon after cupping injury while playing for his Chinese side.

The 30-year old footballer took to his Instagram page to hint his 497,000 followers that he was recuperating accordingly from the surgery and can’t wait to go back to the beautiful game with his club and the national team.

“On the road to recovery, can’t wait to get back on the pitch with TEDA and my National Team #TianjinTeda #SuperEagles.

Meanwhile, Mikel wasn’t invited as Super Eagles gears to play two international friendly matches, against Corsica selected side and the Hawks of Togo respectively, before the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo next month.

The Super Eagles play South Africa before they file out against Cameroon in August in the day-three of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The three-time African champions lead Group B of the qualifiers with six points before Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria follow suit with the group winner booking one of the five African slots for the World Cup
